Our Services

How it works

Your involvement helps this process thrive, so we’ll keep in touch at every stage to make sure everything’s going smoothly.

Step 1: An initial chat

An informal, initial chat will help us get to know more about you and your loved one’s needs.

Step 2: The home visit

We’ll visit you and your loved one, discuss their needs, the support they’re looking for, and explore what type of CAREGiver would be best for your loved one.

Step 3: CAREGiver introductions

After we’ve selected the right support and brought them up to speed with your loved one’s needs, we’ll introduce everyone in a relaxed and professional way.

Domiciliary Care

Caring for you in your home is our vocation

In order to receive our Domiciliary Care Service you will need to have your specific needs identified by a social worker, health care professional or one of our trained managers who will complete a care assessment. When your needs have been identified and agreed with you they will be included in your individual centred care plan.

Domiciliary care refers to homecare, that is personal care, support and assistance given by carers in an individual's home. Domilciilary care agency carers are trained to work children, young adults, adults, the elderly and people with a variety of different needs and disabilities.

The domiciliary care plan will also indicate the times that you have requested for your visits by our carers. The carer or support worker will use the care plan as a guide to provide you with the domiciliary care you have been identified as needing during their visit.

During this initial visit a risk assessment will also be carried out. This risk assessment will help identify safety issues and risks such as lifting and possible hazards in your home environment. If hazards are identified we will discuss with you the necessary action required to reduce the risk to you or the carer or support worker to ensure that you are both safe. For example this could include the recommendation to arrange the provision of safety equipment such as hoists to enable safe manual handling.

Our carers will provide assistance to our clients in many daily tasks whilst still enabling our clients to remain independent where possible. We provide homecare to many homes in the Birmingham and Solihull region. Our carers can work with the elderly, the mentally or physically disabled or with terminally ill patients.

A senior member of staff will arrange a further meeting with you to review your domiciliary care plan, amend it if necessary and ensure that you are happy with the service you have been receiving. After this your domiciliary care needs will be reviewed on an annual basis or as necessary if there are any changes in your requirements. If you need more time on a particular day or on a permanent basis, then this matter will be raised with your social worker or health care professional who will discuss the matter with you, and if necessary make a request for a re-assessment.

We have been providing domiciliary care in the Solihull and Birmingham areas since 1989 both to the local authority, the NHS and private individuals that require our services. Our domiciliary care is compliant with the CQC regulations and our latest report can be viewed on their website.

Supported Living

We offer 24 hour supported living in the community

We offer 24 hour supported living in the community for individuals over the age of 18 with tailored care plans offering realistic aims and goals. Our supported living has been especially successful with individuals who suffer from learning disabilities. We promote the independence of our service users helping them to lead fulfilling lives in supported accommodation.

Knightsbridge Care Services supported living works together with local landlords to provide safe and positive environments where our service users are able to maximise their ability to control and improve their quality of life. Properties can be sourced for service users requiring individual flats, shared accommodation and group homes. We can assist with the move to make the individual more comfortable in their new surroundings.

One of the most important things for many of our adults with disabilities is independence, and our supported living accommodation provides the perfect balance between support at home and full residential care. The benefits of independent living means that each person lives in their own self contained flat which has all the amenities they need to live independently.

They can decorate their space in a way that they like and have full control of how they live and on all the daily choices they make. The individuals and family can feel save knowing our carers and support staff are on hand 24 hours a day to provide support if and when it is needed. Supported living can work for people with a variety of different conditions.

For those with physical disabilities, it is invaluable in ensuring the home environment is designed around specific mobility challenges, while for those with learning disabilities, the greatest benefit is often the opportunity to develop the skills required for increasingly independent living in a safe and secure environment.

This can be sharing a house or flat with other people with similar learning disabilities. This encourages the individuals to make more choices, and encourages them in supporting each other and creates opportunities for shared activities.

We are committed to maintaining the very highest standards in all our supported living faciilities. We recruit carers with natural compassion and who work hard to provide the best for all our individuals in supported living.  As one of the leading independent providers of health and social care in Birmingham and Solihull, we have the resources and experience to back up the dedication of our support teams with the tools they need to succeed. We aim to offer flexible supported living options depending on the choice that family and individuals make in order to make the move a positive experience.

Learning Disability Care

We are experienced in learning disability support

Knightsbridge Care Services provides learning disability support services for adults and older people with a range of learning disabilities including; Autism, Challenging Behaviours, Dementia, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health Needs and Physical and Sensory disabilities. The work our carers do in their learning disability support work has a profound affect on the lives of the adults we support.

After an initial assessment our fully trained staff can provide as much support as the individual needs. This can range from 1 hour per day to 24 hour care, with either 1 or 2 support staff depending on your requirements. Our carers can help the family make useful changes within the home to allow the individual to live more comfortably and independently.

Our support staff appreciate some of the challenges facing people living with learning disabilities and the value they attach to living as independent a life as possible. Our experienced carers are used to supporting a range of individuals with learning disabilities in their homes.

Our staff give emotional and practical support to other family members or carers that allows them to take a break from being the constant carer. The work our staff does has a profound effect on both the adults and their families and can be a preventative measure from placing the individual into a residential home.

Our learning disability support is tailored around the individuals, who each have a person centred plan which includes all of their likes, dislikes, needs, ambitions etc. Our carers can offer a great sense of companionship and provide support in pursuing hobbies and personal interests for the individual.

Respite Care

We offer respite care so you can take a break

Knightsbridge Care Services has a sister company known as Coneygreen Residential Care Home? We are located in a suburb of Birmingham close to lots of amenities which we utilise within our community. We undersand the importance of a warm and friendly respite home and our staff are all dedicated and caring. There are trained staff available all day and night in our respite which provides peace of mind for family members and carers.

Coneygreen is a residential home for people with learning disabilities, mental health, challenging behaviour, autism and Asperger’s and associated disabilities. We can provide long term care or short term placements or respite. We are CQC (Care Quality Commission) registered. Our carers ensure that whether the respite is for a few days, weeks or longer that all adults feel comfortable during their stay. Coneygreen residential service offers respite for learning disabilities only 18-65 yrs of age.

Being a full-time carer is a very demanding role. Respite breaks are an opportunity for carers to take a holiday or simply spend some time looking after their own needs, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is receiving the very best care. Sometimes respite becomes a necessity after a family emergency we ensure that our trained respite carers can offer the individual adult comfort during their stay.

We tailor our respite stays to each person’s individual needs and our nursing staff and carers have specialist expertise in supporting older people who have Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, physical disabilities or restricted mobility, and conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis. Respite stays can last for just a few days or as long as needed. Respite stays can be a place to stay until a permanent place in supported living or a residential home becomes a possibility.

We understand that it’s the personal details that make a difference. We make an assessment on all our respite clients before they arrive, so we can be sure that they receive any special requirements from the beginning of their stay. Each respite client has a personal care plan that takes into account their support needs, interests, likes and dislikes, and daily routines.

Every respite client has their own bedroom, which they can personalise with photographs and personal items from home to help create a familiar environment. Friends and familes are welcome to visit at any time during their respite stay. We provide an avenue to independence through person centred strategies and outcomes during respite stays. We provide assistance where needed for daily tasks and offer ideas to make life more comfortable for individuals and their families once the individuals return to their homes.
